VinFast Philippines and Green GSM recently held a media roundtable to talk about the details of their recently launched RENTAPASADA program. As the name suggests, RENTAPASADA is a drive-to-earn electric vehicle rental program aimed at making ride-hailing more accessible and economical for Filipino drivers. The initiative pairs brand-new VinFast EVs with Green GSM’s ride-hailing platform under a daily rental model starting at P1,050, enabling drivers to operate as TNVS without the upfront cost of vehicle ownership.
“Every time we introduce something new, we ask a simple question: how can we make electric mobility more useful in the everyday lives of Filipinos – not just a cleaner way to travel, but genuinely practical, something that fits real budgets, real routines, and real plans for the future?” said Rhomel Franco, CEO of VinFast Philippines. “For many Filipinos, a vehicle has long been seen mainly as an expense. We wanted to explore whether it could also be something more – a way to move, and at the same time, a way to earn.”

“RENTAPASADA is a program designed for qualified drivers to access a VinFast electric vehicle, operate through the Green GSM platform, and start building a more structured source of income,” said Victor Jose Vela, VinFast Philippines’ Deputy CEO for Sales & Dealer Network
As of launch time, prospective customers of the RENTAPASADA can avail of either the 5-seater Herio Green and 7-seater Limo Green to join the program. To qualify, drivers must hold a professional driver’s license, NBI clearance, medical certificate, a negative drug test, and a Tax Identification Number. Contracts run for five years, extendable to eight, with an option for drivers to buy the unit at contract end. Drivers pay a daily rental fee and an amortized security deposit that is refundable at contract completion.

As part of the RENTAPASADA program, Green GSM covers LTO registration, inspection and road maintenance fees, personal accident insurance for motorists (PAMI), vehicle insurance and CTPL, periodic maintenance, and GPS installation. For their part, drivers are responsible for their TNVS registration (with Green GSM assistance), charging costs if not using Green GSM chargers that are free to use until 2029, toll fees, parking, traffic fines, and repair costs. The program also includes performance requirements: drivers must log at least 250 trips per month (10 trips/day for 25 days) and maintain a 90% or higher Acceptance Rate and Completion Rate.
“We designed it to be approachable: the requirements to get started are modest, the terms are meant to be clear, and the day-to-day economics are built so that more of what a driver earns stays with the driver,” Franco said. “And because these are electric vehicles, drivers also save on fuel and enjoy free charging – keeping running costs low so more of what they make stays in their pocket,” he added.
RENTAPASADA is supported by VinFast Philippines, Green GSM, and charging arm V-Green. The group promises that its charging network will expand alongside driver adoption to improve operational predictability. “We see RENTAPASADA as an invitation – to rivers, to aspiring operators, and to everyday Filipinos looking for a practical way forward,” Franco added.
The RENTAPASADA program targets drivers who want to enter or scale within the ride-hailing economy without vehicle purchase, offering an accessible entry point while emphasizing clear terms, lower running costs, and revenue opportunities through Green GSM’s platform.
