BYD Cars Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has deployed 20 BYD Sealion 5 DM-i units to Highland Transport Service Cooperative (HTSC), marking the first Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet in the Cordillera and La Trinidad region. Delivered with dealer partner SEAelectric, the fleet supports HTSC’s re-fleeting program and aims to modernize public transport across Northern Luzon.
The BYD Sealion 5 DM-i pairs electric-first performance with BYD’s Super DM-i technology, offering extended driving range and improved fuel efficiency suited to the varied terrain of Benguet and surrounding areas. The move is expected to lower operating costs for drivers while providing passengers with a quieter, more comfortable, and more sustainable commuting experience.

“At BYD Cars Philippines, we are focused on advancing clean energy solutions and supporting the transition toward more responsible and greener transportation. The deployment of the first BYD Sealion 5 DM-i taxi fleet in the La Trinidad and Cordillera region highlights how it delivers an innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solution that performs well beyond city roads, supporting operators navigating the varied terrain of Benguet and surrounding areas,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.
The initiative reinforces BYD Cars Philippines’ strategy to tailor electric mobility solutions for local transport operators, positioning the Sealion 5 DM-i as a practical option for fleet modernization across provincial routes.
