SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer, and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, recently announced the arrival of the new BMW 7 Series. The refreshed luxury sedan is the brand's flagship automobile and is its showcase of luxury and technology. As of launch, BMW PH had already sold its entire initial inventory of the 7 Series. BMW Philippines President Spencer Yu also revealed that the units that are scheduled to arrive in September are also already spoken for. Without the units even having reached our shores yet, the distributor had already met their COVID-adjusted forecasts for their flagship model.

The BMW 730i Pure Excellence is powered by a 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower four-cylinder gasoline engine that promises 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Alternately, the new BMW 745Le Pure Excellence - BMW’s first-ever Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) in the Philippines, has a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower six-cylinder gasoline paired with an electric motor. The BMW 745Le is capable of up to 55 kilometers of electric range in ideal conditions and offers a combined performance figure of 394 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque.

The refreshed 7s are 23mm longer than its predecessors. The BMW 745Le Pure Excellence is even longer, being offered in long wheelbase and having an extra 140 millimeters on the BMW 730i Pure Excellence variant.

At first glance, those in the know will notice the new bonnet has more sharply cut contour lines and a larger BMW roundel.
