Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) today officially launched Green GSM, the first all-electric taxi service in the Philippines. The Philippines is the fourth international market GSM is present in, following Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. Founded in Vietnam in 2023, GSM is a pioneer in Southeast Asia’s sustainable transit. The launch marks a key milestone in the company’s “Go Green Global” strategy, which aims to promote sustainable mobility on a global scale.
The event was held at Quezon Memorial Circle, attended by key government officials, diplomatic figures, and nearly 100 sector partners. Notable attendees include Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque; Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon; Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs Frederick D. Go; Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Teofilo E. Guadiz III; Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte; and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Philippines Lai Thai Binh.

Green GSM will begin operations in 10 of the 16 cities and districts that comprise Metro Manila, which is the political, economic, and cultural heartland of the Philippines and is home to over 13 million people. The service will operate an exclusive fleet of cyan-colored VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles, which offer smooth, quiet rides and produce zero emissions.

Operating in accordance with international standards, Green GSM delivers a five-star experience that includes trained drivers, a secure monitoring system (S2S), transparent fares, and competitive pricing. The service emphasizes safety, security, and efficiency by utilizing AI and real-time risk management.

The drivers will be directly employed by Green GSM, earning fixed salaries, benefits, and incentives in accordance with Philippine labor regulations, instead of relying on the typical boundary system used by taxis and ride-hailing apps. Green GSM’s depot is located in Kalookan City, which is where their DC chargers are currently situated. Moving forward, strategic partners will install additional chargers throughout the metro for use by both taxis and VinFast owners.

According to Dao Quy Phi, the president and managing director of Green GSM Philippines, the company plans to expand to key cities in the country, such as Cebu and Davao, in the coming months. He added that while the service launched in Metro Manila with a limited number of units, their fleet will increase in size every month, depending on what the Philippine government permits, as well as the demand for the service.

“The Philippines marks a strategic chapter in our Go Green Global journey. But more than expanding to a new market, our true goal is to ignite a real transformation – shifting from traditional mobility to an electric future that is cleaner, smarter, and more socially responsible,” said Nguyễn Văn Thanh, Global CEO of GSM.

Aligned with the theme “Hello Philippines: Move Forward the Green Way,” the company aims to promote sustainable urban living. Green GSM can be accessed through an app, a hotline, street hailing, or designated pickup points. To celebrate, new users can earn 500 Pesos in Green Points for their first ride (June 10 – August 31, 2025).

The service of Green GSM can be availed via the Green GSM mobile application that is now available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play. You can also hail a car by calling the hotline 02-7777-8080 or by hailing a Green GSM taxi on the street.
