Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. (JAPI) recently hosted a media drive to showcase the Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM before its highly anticipated official launch at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2025. The event gave participants a practical look at the mid-sized, seven-seater SUV, experiencing its intelligent dual-motor technology, premium comfort, and advanced safety features firsthand.
The first thing we noticed as we approached the Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM was its well-curated interior. Our assigned unit had the white body color/mocha interior combination, which we found very classy. The luxurious leather seats offered superior support and comfort, while the panoramic sunroof amplified the spaciousness of the cabin. In addition to powered controls for the driver and front passenger seats, there are also ventilation and heating options. The instrument panel and head unit serve as the hub for infotainment and vehicle settings and are found on one extra-wide panel consisting of two 10.25-inch screens. Cabin cooling is courtesy of a dual-zone climate control, which can be adjusted via the touch screen panel found at the base of the center console.
For entertainment, the X70 Lightning i-DM is equipped with Sony speakers connected to the head unit that has native Bluetooth connectivity. The X70 Lightning i-DM offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, albeit via a third-party app called Carbit, which requires the use of a receiver dongle. The SUV is equipped with both wireless and wired charging (USB Type-A and Type-C), ensuring convenience for passengers who need to charge their devices on the go.
We folded the backrests to expand the boot since we were only four in the car. This feature makes the X70 Lightning i-DM an ideal vehicle for those who need the versatility it affords.
Under the hood of the Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This combination produces 156 PS of power and 220 Nm of torque, offering a balance of power and fuel efficiency. Driving within the speed limits, we had more than enough power for our drive that mostly traversed through the expressway. Jetour claims that the X70 Lightning i-DM can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on a full tank of gasoline and a full charge.
Another useful feature of the X70 Lightning i-DM is its vehicle-to-load (V2L) system, which supports up to 6.6 kW of power and can power devices in emergencies or when outlets are not available.
On the outside, the X70 Lightning i-DM boasts a modern and stylish design. The LED headlights with adaptive low and high beams provide excellent visibility, while the LED taillights enhance its sophisticated rear-end appearance. Its power tailgate adds convenience when loading and unloading cargo, and the 19-inch alloy wheels give the SUV a commanding road presence.
Jetour has equipped the X70 Lightning i-DM with a comprehensive suite of safety features, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike. There are a lot of active safety features on this car, such as Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Rollover Mitigation System, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto-Hold, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Passive safety features include seatbelts, 8 airbags, its cage body structure, front, rear, and side collision beams, a collapsible steering column, crumple zones, ISOFIX ports, and child locks.
It also comes loaded with advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) that include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automotive Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 360-Degree Panoramic View, Rear Collision Warning, and Door Open Warning.
Pricing and availability
The Jetour X70 Lightning i-DM is available in four exterior body colors with the corresponding interior theme. The Jade Green and Marble Gray colorways come with Burgundy interiors, while the Pebble Gray and Coral White have Mocha interiors.
Priced at P1,648,000, the X70 is Jetour’s most affordable i-DM vehicle on offer and will come with JAPI’s extensive warranty package that includes a 1 million-kilometer or 6-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 10-year engine warranty, and an 8-year battery warranty.
