DENZA, the BYD Group’s premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand, has officially entered the Philippine market following a series of rollout activities that began with the ceremonial awarding of dealer partners last January.

Headlining its local debut is the all-new DENZA D9 DM-i, positioned as the brand’s flagship executive MPV and its opening statement in the country. DENZA is pitching the D9 as a polished, upmarket people-mover that balances electrified performance with contemporary design and a high-comfort cabin experience—an approach aimed squarely at buyers who want family or executive transport without sacrificing refinement.

BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division General Manager Liu Xueliang led the presentation introducing the DENZA brand and its evolution from a partnership with Mercedes Benz to becoming a full-owned subsidiary of the BYD Group.

“DENZA represents a new standard of premium mobility, where advanced technology enhances comfort, innovation is seamless, and sustainability meets performance,” said Mr. Liu. “Every detail of DENZA is designed to provide a refined and effortless driving experience.”

For his part, Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD and DENZA Philippines, introduced DENZA’s local footprint and its four strategically located dealerships.

“Today marks an important milestone for DENZA in the Philippines. We are introducing a brand for individuals who seek a premium mobility experience — where innovation enhances comfort, every detail is carefully considered, and every journey feels refined and effortless. The D9 is just the beginning of our commitment to delivering this, and we look forward to expanding our presence in the months ahead,” Mr. Hu said.

The grand launch resembled global launches we’ve attended abroad, complete with expansive LED screens as well as a symphonic performance led by Grammy-nominee conductor and composer maestro Darrell Ang with the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

DENZA D9 DM-i

Powering the DENZA D9 DM-i is the fifth-generation Super DM-i system that pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with dual electric motors for a combined output of up to 400 horsepower and 681 Nm of torque. DENZA lists a top speed of 180 km/h, with all-wheel drive and a comprehensive range of up to 980 kilometers on a full tank and fully charged battery. The electrified system is supported by BYD’s 40kWh Blade Battery and built on the e-Platform 3.0 architecture. For ownership coverage, the D9 DM-i comes with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer battery warranty.

Inside, the full-size seven-seater is finished with Nappa leather across all three rows. The cabin technology suite includes a 15.6-inch central infotainment display, dual 12.8-inch rear entertainment screens, and a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system. Second-row passengers get zero-gravity executive seats with 10-way power adjustment, six-way adjustable headrests, extendable leg rests, and heating, ventilation, and massage functions, with integrated armrest control screens for seat and comfort settings. Other features highlighted at launch include a built-in smart refrigerator that can both cool and warm its contents, wireless charging, power sliding doors, and multi-color ambient lighting. DENZA also introduced the DENZA App, which enables remote vehicle monitoring, location tracking, charging management, and control of key functions via smartphone.

“DENZA was created to offer a new interpretation of modern mobility — where advanced electrification and elegant design come together to create meaningful experiences. The D9 represents that vision, and we are excited for Filipino customers to experience what the brand stands for,” added Mr. Liu.

The all-new DENZA D9 DM-i will be sold in Whale Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, Arctic White, and Starry Night Grey, with an SRP of P4,298,000. For early adaptors, a special introductory price of P3,998,000 will be available for the first 300 units, pending DTI approval.

DENZA Dealer Network

One day before the brand launch, DENZA Philippines’ dealer partners officially opened their respective showrooms, except for DENZA Greenhills, which is operating from a temporary pop‑up while its permanent facility is under construction. DENZA’s current network includes: DENZA Alabang at the corner of Alabang‑Zapote Road and Investment Drive, Muntinlupa City; DENZA Cebu on A. Soriano Avenue, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City (operated by ACMobility Premium Dealership Inc.); DENZA Makati at 2261 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City (operated by Harmony New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Ltd. Corp.); and the soon‑to‑be‑built DENZA Greenhills at La Salle and Connecticut Streets, San Juan City (under E‑Vantage Motors Inc.).

DENZA in 2026

During his presentation, Adam Hu mentioned that DENZA will be launching three more vehicles within the year aside from the D9 DM-i. Guests were shown preview units of upcoming models namely the DENZA Z9 GT which is said to be in the pipeline for the second half of the year, and the DENZA B5 and DENZA B8 SUVs which are rumored to launch as early as next month.
