Suzuki Philippines (SPH) officially unveiled the newest addition to its lineup: the All-New Suzuki Fronx. Held at the Lakehall at Nena’s Sanctuary in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna, last September 12, SPH also used the event to reveal the XL7 Hybrid Black Edition. With the successful launch of the two vehicles, Suzuki Philippines reaffirms its commitment to innovation, dependability, and style—characteristics that have made the brand a trusted partner in mobility for the past 50 years.
During his opening remarks, Suzuki Philippines President Koichiro Hirao underscored the significance of the launch, tying it to the company’s 50th anniversary celebration:
“For five decades, Suzuki has been part of the Filipino journey—through our motorcycles, automobiles, and marine engines. Guided by our ONE SUZUKI vision, we bring these three businesses together to provide complete mobility solutions. Today, we add another exciting chapter with the launch of the All-New Suzuki Fronx,” Hirao said.

Also at the launch was the Fronx’ Chief Engineer Takashi Yokoyama who shared the story and passion behind the creation of the Fronx. Inspired by the strength and elegance of a thoroughbred horse, the design blends coupe-inspired sophistication with SUV ruggedness.
“The Fronx is not only a stylish coupe SUV, but also one that provides the comfort to bring smiles to everyone who rides in it. With ‘strength and beauty’ as our theme, we created a vehicle that shines both in the city and in nature,” Yokoyama explained.

The Fronx: Exceeds expectations
The Suzuki Fronx enters the scene as a dynamic, bold contender designed to turn heads. During the pre-launch media drive to Bataan, we were pleasantly surprised by its grip on Bataan’s twisties and how planted it was on the highway. Tailored for urban adventures and off-road escapades, its impressive features complement its bold aesthetics. With a body measuring 3,995 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height, the Fronx strikes a perfect balance between compact agility and spacious comfort. Its wheelbase of 2,250 mm and ground clearance of 170 mm promise stability and versatility in different driving conditions.
At the front, the SUV commands attention with LED daytime running lights and split-style LED headlamps that give it a keen, modern look. A black grille with chrome accents and a rugged skid plate boldly assert its presence. On the sides, the vehicle boasts stylish fender garnishes, roof rails, and 16-inch tires, featuring either black-painted alloy wheels for the GSX trim or polished ones for the higher GL and GLX trims. The rear further enhances its sporty appeal with a rear spoiler, LED tail lamps, a shark fin antenna, rear reflectors, and skid plates—designed to leave a memorable impression.
Inside, the Fronx offers a smart, modern cabin capable of comfortably accommodating five adults, with ample 304-liter boot space. The cabin design cleverly blends black and burgundy accents, creating an inviting ambiance. Higher trims come equipped with a sophisticated instrument panel displaying analog gauges and a 4.2-inch multi-information display, giving drivers quick access to vital data. The optional Heads-Up Display (HUD) projects speed, temperature, and fuel information directly onto the windshield, heightening convenience and safety.
The tech-savvy interior features a 9-inch high-definition touchscreen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone connectivity. Additional convenience features include a 360-degree camera, wireless charging pad, push-start ignition, automatic climate control, and multiple storage compartments, all aimed at elevating driver experience and everyday practicality.
Under the hood, the Fronx Hybrid packs a punch with a 1.5-liter K15C Dual Jet engine integrated with a 12V hybrid system. The engine uses two fuel injectors, a high compression ratio, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), and dual Variable Valve Timing (VVT) to deliver outstanding performance while saving fuel and keeping emissions low. It outputs 101 PS of power and 135 Nm of torque, coupled with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission—ensuring responsive driving dynamics whether navigating city streets or tackling rougher terrain.

The model lineup offers versatility. The base GL trim featuring a 1.5-liter engine and 4-speed automatic transmission caters to everyday driving. The more advanced GLX and SGX hybrid models use Suzuki’s mild hybrid technology and a 6-speed automatic transmission, which combines excellent fuel efficiency with lively performance—especially attractive for drivers who want more from their vehicle.
Safety is a cornerstone of the Fronx’s appeal. Equipped with Suzuki Safety Support Technology, it includes features such as Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Lane Keep Assist, High Beam Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Moreover, six airbags ensure maximum occupant protection—offering owners peace of mind on every journey.
The color palette is vibrant and varied, with options like Snow White Pearl, Magma Gray Metallic, Ice Grayish Blue Pearl Metallic, Savannah Ivory Metallic, and a two-tone combination of Snow White Pearl with Cool Black Pearl Metallic. The vehicle, sourced from Suzuki Indonesia, blends global quality with local appeal. Pricing begins at P1,059,000 for the GL AT, with the GLX AT Hybrid at P1,219,000 and the flagship SGX AT Hybrid Two Tone at P1,299,000.
XL7 Hybrid Black Edition
At the same event, Suzuki Philippines revealed the new XL7 Hybrid Black Edition, offering customers a fresh and distinctive take on the well-loved hybrid MPV.
The Black Edition features black-painted body garnishes and door handles, a black roof rail, and dark-tinted rear combination lamps, further emphasizing its bold SUV character.
The Suzuki XL7 Hybrid Black Edition is available in two trims: the XL7 GLX AT Hybrid Black Edition priced at P1,259,000 and the Suzuki XL7 GLX AT Hybrid Black Edition Two-Tone priced at P1,269,000.
During his remarks, Suzuki Philippines Automobile Division Director and General Manager Norihide Takei proudly announced the nationwide availability of both models and Suzuki’s strong sales performance by saying, “From January to August 2025, Suzuki Philippines sold a total of 14,519 units, reflecting a 10% growth compared to last year, outpacing the industry, which declined slightly. We are very confident that, with your continued support, the Fronx and the XL7 Hybrid Black Edition will follow this success story and win the hearts of even more Filipino families.”
